Bucharest is an interesting place, where traditions and ancient cultural values join modernism.
Known for its wide tree-lined boulevards, glorious Belle Epoque buildings and a reputation for the high life (which in the 1900s earned its nickname “Little Paris”), our largest city and capital is today a bustling metropolis.
Strolling along Calea Victoriei (Victory street) you will discover the most interesting places and old stunning buildings in the city, including the Cantacuzino Palace, the historical Revolution Square, the Military Club, the CEC headquarters, the National History Museum, the National Museum of Art (former Royal Palace), the impressive Romanian Athenaeum and many others.
A visit to the Parliament Palace is also a must - you will be impressed by this monumental building (according to the Guinness Book is the world’s second-largest administrative building, most expensive administrative building and heaviest building).
Not last, The Historical Center of Bucharest (the Old Town), is one of the most beloved and attractive areas in Bucharest, a place steeped in buildings built in neoclassical and neo-baroque style. Many of these buildings have on the ground floor terraces, cafes, restaurants, and shops, full of foreign tourists, but also locals, most of the year.
Looking forward to welcoming you all to a fruitful and enjoyable Congress.
